Board members have made it a habit to meet quite regularly via videoconference over the last couple of weeks and months. The regular exchange helps to move forward important projects like the future lab and Klingenthal as well as the ongoing public relations work.
For the latter the board specified a planning for upcoming news items to be published on the website until summer break. Also, future topics for the newsletter have been discussed.
Werner gave a report about the current plannings for Klingenthal which is going to take place in October this year provided that the corona virus situation has improved until then. The whole board approved the chosen focus and the speakers confirmed so far.
Bianca added a report about her activities on behalf of ICCS as member of the Thematic group “education, democracy and diversity” of the Conference of European Churches. Most importantly, the members wrote a common paper to reflect the corona virus challenges regarding their group’s topics. Furthermore, the group will deal with the area of populism.
As for the postponed future lab – originally planned for June 2020 – the board decided to look into date proposals between April and June 2021. Furthermore, the possibility to move it from the rather secluded Loegumkloster in Denmark, to a more accessible site in Central Europe has been discussed. The board hopes to be able to announce new information about it soon.
