Bringing together experts and staff of Protestant, Anglican and Orthodox churches responsible for church & school issues is a main concern of ICCS. Furthermore academics from universities and other institutions work with ICCS through conferences, working groups and consultations. Exchange with churches and political institutions is a main priority. ICCS has the status of an organization in partnership with the Conference of European Churches (CEC) and works also closely with the Community of Protestant Churches in Europe (CPCE). On the political level ICCS is an international nongovernmental organization at the Council of Europe (CoE). That enables ICCS to contribute to activities and policy debates of the Council, especially in the field of intercultural education and education for democratic citizenship.
