The Community of Protestant Churches in Europe (CPCE) has established a new working group on education. The specific task of the group is to monitor and supervise the Religious Education syllabus of European schools that is currently under revision. European schools are educational institutions set up by the European Union’s Member States and the European Union. The Schools follow a specific curriculum and offer the European Baccalaureate diploma. The school system consists of two years of early education (nursery cycle), five years of primary and seven years of secondary education. Religious Education so far was taught according to the regulations of the Member States. ICCS President Dr Peter Schreiner was nominated as a member of the CPCE working group.
