Good news: After the postponement due to the corona virus pandemic, the future lab now has a new time and place for 2021. It will take place from 15th – 17th June 2021 at the Kardinal-König-Haus in Vienna. Save the date!

The future lab will be THE place to be in 2021. Work in the laboratory means exploring and trying out new methods in the search for new findings. That’s the kind of adventure ICCS wants to embark on next summer.

ICCS believes that this kind of approach is needed now more than ever. Currently, we are living in the most challenging and unprecedented times. All over Europe and beyond, the corona pandemic has turned our whole lives upside down – all areas of our social and economic life, all our professional and personal lives. Obviously, religious education is not exempt from this. Questions dealing with digital learning, with pastoral care or the importance of meaningful relationships with students are only a few examples. The pandemic puts old issues in a new light and gives rise to completely new ones.

With the concept of the “Future lab”, ICCS aims at offering an open space for exchange and encounters at eye level between experts of religious education from all over Europe. Together, we want to identify crucial questions and topics and develop ideas about what kind of European cooperation we need in order to work on these together, especially within the ICCS network.

On a diverse and colourful continent like Europe, finding those answers is only possible when the different people and perspectives come together. Warm welcome to Vienna in 2021!
