The gathering for the Future lab had been planned for a date more than one year after the start of the pandemic. ICCS had sincerely hoped that the situation would have improved substantially until then. Unfortunately, times are still uncertain and especially travelling across borders in Europe is more challenging than ever with restrictions taken due to the new virus variants. Therefore, with a heavy heart, the ICCS board took the decision to cancel the Future lab for June 2021.

Nevertheless, the ICCS board would like to offer spaces of exchange during the year 2021. “With the newly developed digital format of the “future lab light” we invite experts in the field of religious education to get into an exchange about the hot topics of RE – just as we had planned for the future lab. If this attracts interest, we consider offering additional “future lab lights” throughout the year”, explains Kaarina Lyhykäinen, ICCS board member and part of the preparing group.

The “future lab light” will take place on Wednesday, 9 June 2021 from 4-6pm CET on zoom. It follows the same spirit as the original Future lab: Trying out new methods, explore new findings and work collaboratively.
